Alaska Airlines is adding nonstop flights from Anchorage to Tokyo Narita on a Boeing 737 MAX 8. More than eight hours on a domestically configured 737 may not sound particularly appealing, but for Alaskans who would otherwise have to backtrack through Seattle, this will be a very welcome addition and marks the coolest new route add (at least so far) of 2027.

Alaska Airlines Adds Anchorage–Tokyo Narita Flights On The Boeing 737 MAX 8

Alaska Airlines has announced its first nonstop service between Anchorage (ANC) and Tokyo Narita (NRT) , beginning May 13, 2027, subject to government approval.

The route will operate daily during the summer:

AS22 Tokyo Narita (NRT)–Anchorage (ANC) 9:45 pm 12:00 pm
