Surfers checking the waves around Point Mugu State Beach in Ventura County got far more action than they bargained for when a live, unexploded military rocket was discovered resting on the shoreline over the weekend. The popular state park is widely celebrated for its heavy shorebreak and high-performance, barreling sandbars. However, the coastline was quickly cleared out after local authorities realized the extreme hazard sitting on the public sand – a Super Bazooka. The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad was immediately dispatched to the scene to inspect the heavily corroded metallic device.
