RENTON — In the short-term, there will be some adjusting for Quenton Nelson and the Seahawks .

For Nelson, who has made the Pro Bowl all eight of his seasons with the Indianapolis Colts, there is the sudden move from the only NFL home he has known to a new city roughly 1,800 miles away.

“A little bittersweet,” said Nelson, who played in college at nearby Notre Dame before being drafted by the Colts with the sixth overall pick in the 2018 draft. “Formed a lot of great relationships in Indy. Great community there. But definitely excited for this next chapter.”

For some of his new teammates, there is the reality of accepting a new role — for 2025 first-round pick Grey Zabel from left guard to right to make room for Nelson, and for Anthony Bradford from starting right guard to reserve.
