Coronation Street star Julie Hesmondhalgh has revealed why contestants on The Celebrity Traitors are banned from having televisions in their hotel rooms.
The actor, who was banished from the BBC reality show earlier in the series, explained how the seemingly unusual rule could help prevent the Faithful from discovering who the Traitors are.
She told Good Housekeeping magazine: “You weren’t allowed televisions because of ways that you can ascertain who went to bed latest.”
In the show, the Traitors are invited back to the castle after all the other contestants have gone to bed in order to film additional scenes.
Julie revealed producers also banned the cast from using Spotify in case they used the app to communicate with each other; she added: "You’re not allowed Spotify because you can talk to each other through it."
