Question says it all. I made it to the final round of an interview (4 interviews + a preservation) last year and got rejected for someone else. They sent me a very nice rejection email and even mentioned opening the position within 3 months again and I would be their #1.

Well a year went by and they reached out a few weeks ago and asked if I was still interested. The interview went so well - arguably the best answers I’ve had - so it doesn’t make sense to me? Very hurt if that’s the case… TIA

EDIT 10/30: It’s now officially the end of week - I sent a shot in the dark follow up email that the recruiter responded to right away saying she hopes to have next steps by next week… but that was my final interview so there’s no next steps it’s either I got it or I didn’t?…
