A McDonald's breakfast sandwich is at the center of a lawsuit that reads more like a medical horror story than a morning meal. Texas resident Yvette Hinds has sued the fast-food giant, claiming a Sausage McMuffin with Egg she purchased during a trip to New York City left her so seriously ill that she ultimately required multiple medical procedures and continues to suffer lasting health consequences. The lawsuit, which was filed May 26 in Manhattan Supreme Court and obtained by The New York Post , traces the ordeal back to May 25, 2023, when Hinds stopped at a McDonald's location in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. According to court documents, the sandwich she was served was "wholly unfit for human consumption" and allegedly contained "injurious substances, contaminants, poisons, toxins, parasites, bacteria, germs and/or organisms."
