California just got its first Wavegarden-powered surf park. Now, an even bigger machine is headed north. On Thursday, Wavegarden dropped a major update on Alchemy Surf Resort , a sprawling inland surf destination planned for Placer County, north of Roseville and roughly 30 minutes from Sacramento. See announcement, linked here , and below. View this post on Instagram “Our map keeps on growing,” Wavegarden announced after the Placer County Planning Commission unanimously approved the project in September. And the centerpiece is enormous. Per a press release : Alchemy will feature a five-acre, 62-module Wavegarden Cove, capable of pumping out up to 1,000 waves per hour for everyone from first-timers to advanced surfers. For comparison, newly opened DSRT Surf in Palm Desert runs a 52-module Wavegarden Cove across a 5.5-acre lagoon and currently holds the title of North America’s largest Wavegarden Cove. It also produces up to 1,000 waves per hour.…
