How many times do you have to play a song before you can play it well? Sometimes when learning a new piece, I’m uncertain if it is at my level or not. Should I be able to play a song well after playing it ten times? Twenty? What do you think?

EDIT: thanks everyone for the replies. For context, I took lessons from ages 10-18, and ~15 yrs later I’m playing again more consistently but on my own. Sometimes I’ll play a new song (I like to play more soul/blues/pop type of music - nothing too advanced from a technical perspective) 50 times and feel like I need another 50+ before I feel good about it. Then I question if I’m choosing a piece above my level or if it’s reasonable to play a song 100s of times before it’s “performable”. I’m operating in a bit of a vacuum so I appreciate everyone’s insight!
