This question came to mind after I revisited the John Waters film Desperate Living, having bought the screenplay to that, Hairspray and Pink Flamingos at a Baltimore bookstore. The movie opens with Peggy Gravel (Mink Stole) deliriously scolding children who broke her bedroom window while playing baseball.
