Russell Brand arrives at Southwark Crown Court as rape trial continues
Southwark Crown Court heard evidence from over 20 friends, family and colleagues of a woman who alleges Russell Brand anally raped her in 2009.
Witnesses stated the alleged victim was left humiliated, scared and in severe physical pain after Brand allegedly ignored her repeated pleas to stop.
The court heard Brand became aggressive after the alleged attack, scolding the woman as disgusting and demanding she clean blood from his sheets.
Friends described how the experience profoundly changed the woman, adding that she initially feared no one would believe her if she reported it to the police.
Brand denies three counts of rape, three counts of sexual assault, and one count of indecent assault against six women, as the trial continues.
