Hi all, Frenck here 👋

I've seen a lot of questions and worries about this pop up here, so I wrote down my takes and views in one place.

Short version: you upgrade to 2026.11, everything you had in HACS comes along automatically, and nothing costs money.

The longer version covers why we built it in, what changed (installing something new got a lot nicer), and why we picked the name Marketplace.

And a big thank you to Joakim (ludeeus), who created HACS and donated it to the Open Home Foundation.
