Father who killed school shooter says he regrets not being able to save more children

Kaylub Giamanco spoke publicly for the first time about intervening during a deadly mass shooting at Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend, Oregon .

The 16-year-old gunman killed three children and a teacher before Giamanco entered the school with a handgun and shot the teenager to end the rampage.

Police credited Giamanco with saving numerous lives at the campus, and President Donald Trump praised him as a hero for his brave actions.

Giamanco shared that he is haunted by the tragic event and expressed profound grief for the victims he was unable to protect.

A father of two students at the school, Giamanco plans to use his voice to advocate for improved classroom security infrastructure.
