hey guys, i'm currently a cc student majoring in accounting. I plan to switch to cs because I find a strong interest in systems & software and how they can be applied to financial software. I’d like to hear from people who work in fintech or have tried to enter the field.

- What roles do you have, and what does your day-to-day work involve?

- For someone who wants to build fintech products, is a CS degree with finance coursework a strong foundation?

- How much accounting or finance knowledge do software engineers actually use?

- What skills, projects, internships, or experiences helped you get your first fintech role?

- Are there Bay Area companies, programs, or student opportunities you’d recommend looking into?

I’m especially interested in firsthand experiences from people in the Bay Area. I know fintech includes many different roles, so I’d appreciate hearing what your specific path has been like?
