My employer sell seasonal winter stuff for the winter, and word at the office was that we were to expect less snow on the ground during a strong El Nino. We looked at historical data of past 25 years that seemed to confirm this.

But I also understand that warm weather causes the polar vortex to weaken and to bring polar cold and snow with it.
