Futures tied to the Nasdaq-100 dropped early Friday after Amazon and Intel shares slid following the companies' latest quarterly results.

Nasdaq-100 futures lost 2.1%, while futures tied to the S&P 500 slid 1%. Dow futures fell 104 points.

In Asia, Japan's Nikkei 225 slipped 2.63% while the Topix dropped 1.35%. The Kospi was down 4.74%, while the small-cap Kosdaq declined 4.08%. Australia's benchmark S&P/ASX 200 was 0.29% higher. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index was up 1.64% , while mainland China's CSI 300 fell 0.38%.
