Posting here because I don't really have anywhere else to talk about it.

We met with our financial advisor today and after a recent inheritance from my mom, our plan was accelerated to have me retire when I turned 55 (which would be the end of 2027). But the way they have mapped it out, they have me projected to have zero income for all of 2027. Like I can quit in TWO months. And earn $0 going forward and we are going to be OK. And my wife and I just left the meeting, came home and sat back down at our desks to keep working. We didn't high-five each other, jump up and down in excitement, nothing. And it's sad as hell to me. THIS is the moment some people never get and it wasn't even a blip in our day.
