Man dies after 'falling out of rollercoaster' at Six Flags over Georgia
Six Flags has temporarily closed nine roller coasters across its amusement parks to review safety procedures following a recent fatal incident.
The closures follow the October 12 death of 42-year-old teacher Hassan Jihad Ibn Kariem, who was ejected from the Goliath roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia.
Six Flags announced plans to install seat belts on Goliath and other coasters equipped with similar restraint systems.
Independent engineers and ride safety experts have been hired to audit safety procedures and evaluate operations across all parks.
The safety review comes weeks after Six Flags Magic Mountain permanently closed its X2 ride amid multiple lawsuits alleging severe brain injuries.
