My headcanon is that it is made of Cortosis. The core part of the hilt's body is made of Phrik. A lightsaber and energy resistant material. Putting lightsaber resistant material on a lightsaber hilt is usually redundant since it's rare for a Jedi's hilt to get broken in a duel by a lightsaber wielding opponent. I could imagine Sidious going overkill by adding yet another lightsaber resistant metal over the other. He seems like he'd be that kind of person. Edit: I'm referring to the lavender/maroon/dark red finish part. I know the silver part is Phrik, and the shiny gold ends are Rhodium with an Electrum finish.
