A juvenile was arrested after a gun was found Thursday at a high school in Las Vegas, according to school officials.

In a letter sent to parents, Sierra Vista High School principal Jessica Lovell stated that school administration received a report of a firearm on campus.

Lovell said that the Clark County School District Police Department responded, recovered the gun and arrested the juvenile.

“There were no direct threats to students or staff,” Lovell noted, adding that all CCSD policies and procedures are being followed and that appropriate disciplinary action will be taken.
