How do these work? Seems to me even if you take them out, not much changes since the working jaw stays the same. Or am I missing something? I know large sheet metal brakes can do this to form almost anything, but on those you replace the other jaw as well. Should I get just a simple one without these? This one can do 305 mm length of bend in 1 mm sheet steel.

I work on small projects most of the time so something like this would be really useful.
