Servus! I’m taking a trip to Wien in a week and I’m really looking forward to it! I’ve been learning German for the past year—mostly with Pimsluer and watching/listening to German content. I’m pretty much illiterate, but my listening comprehension is pretty good and I can usually express my thoughts verbally (the quality varies). I really enjoy speaking German but I’ve only been speaking to myself and my monolingual American family and friends who are def getting sick of me replying in a language they don’t understand. I know that the Viennese aren’t known for their small talk, and any German speaker I end up talking to will probably switch to English, but even the fact that people would understand what I’m saying (if I say it right lol) just sounds soooo nice. Even just hearing it around me sounds so fun. I can’t wait!…
