Margenta - St. Bartholomew's Day massacre (2009)

[Power]

Hey everyone! I want to share a song with you. It's in Russian, but I'll provide the translation below. This is a song about the St. Bartholomew's Day massacre by the project Margenta. It features a combination of harsh male vocals (the main lead) and classical clean female and male voices (acting as a background choir in the choruses and the bridge).

I tried to keep the translation as close to the original as possible, but I had to tweak a few things in some places to make it rhyme.

1

Brother Lazarus, step out!

Hear the bells ring all about.

On the empty Paris streets of stone,

Let the cross direct your sight,

But within this darkest night,

Even God won't recognize His own.

2

Brother Lazarus, away!

People whisper, yesterday

Walked an angel, grazing rooftops overhead.

From Golgotha to Versailles,

Holding up the Holy Grail,

Drowning all of Paris deep in red.

Chorus:

August in agony...

Brother, rejoice…
