iA Writer, the lightweight text editor for Apple devices, is out with a new Liquid Glass design-focused update for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. The new iA Writer 8 looks more at home on iOS 26 and macOS Tahoe (or iOS 27 and macOS Golden Gate) iA Writer version 8.0 for iPhone, iPad, and Mac now features a “refreshed interface” that will look more at home on iOS 26 (and iOS 27) as well as macOS Tahoe (and macOS Golden Gate). Each version includes “an app icon that matches your system settings.” iA Writer on the Mac previously featured a custom toggle for changing the app icon to match light and dark system appearance. Now the icon appearance is automatically set to mirror your system-wide app icon appearance settings. The new icons also better honor Apple’s “clear” appearance options.
