Pico.Lab is an open source bench multi tool+ built on the Raspberry Pi Pico, posted as a project on hackaday.io. It combines an oscilloscope, a logic analyzer, a programmable power supply and bus tools into one small board, and the whole interface runs in a browser over the USB connection. No WiFi is involved. The RP2350 presents itself as a USB network adapter, and an lwIP server answers web requests, the same way a router configuration page works.
The HTML, JS and CSS live in SPI flash, converted to C at build time. WebSockets turned out to be too CPU-heavy, so the firmware uses HTTP GET and POST for large or occasional transfers and Server-Sent Events for frequent updates like scope captures and telemetry. Each tool opens as a window in the web UI so several can sit side by side.
The custom PCB uses an RP2350B for its 8 ADC channels, an LM4040 voltage reference, an MP28167-A buck-boost regulator set over I2C from about 1V to 5V, and level shifters on 8 GPIOs plus dedicated UART, SPI and I2C pins.…
