New Balance has unveiled the latest version of its flagship 990 sneaker today, with the introduction of the 990v7.

The arrival of the newest variation of the New Balance 990 comes four years after the debut of the 990v6 , and decades since the launch of the first 990 silhouette. The original 990v1 launched in 1982 and was the first sneaker to retail for $100 at that time. The silhouettes from the 990 line became a staple for those in the DMV area throughout the years due to the sneakers’ comfort and higher price points.

The rollout of the New Balance 990v7 started in September when the brand previewed the shoe on a discreet billboard in New York City with the shoe barely visible at the center.…
