I'm a looking to improve my skills and prepare for software engineering roles. I want to build a proper full-stack project for my portfolio, but I'm struggling with two things: coming up with a good idea and figuring out how to build it from scratch.

Here are the technologies I've learned so far:

Frontend: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React

Backend: Python, FastAPI

Database: PostgreSQL, SQL

I've built frontend projects before, including a Marvel UI clone. I'm comfortable recreating a design by following an existing website or template. However, when it comes to building a complete application with a backend, database, APIs, authentication, and actual functionality, I find it difficult to decide what to build and how to connect everything.
