AI summary apps vs good old pen and paper

15s threshold

I've recently started working for a new company and they are big on using an AI app that records meetings and offers meeting notes and actions afterwards, in a hope of making sure that nobody misses anything from these meetings. While it sounds useful, the reports it produces are really verbose and it's not really able to separate the important things from the non-important things. Then again, everything we talk about is there, so it does ensure that we don't miss anything.

If we're not paying attention and not computing what's important and what's not, it feels like we're giving up an important skill. Do I have a point or am I just an old luddite, shouting at the clouds?
