The Skywind mod is looking more impressive than ever, 14 years after work on it began

Skywind is an ambitious mod remaking The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind within The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim . While it has been in the works since 2012 ( Polygon first wrote about Skywind in 2014 ), its developers recently released a massive update video about the project after keeping their heads down for two years.

On May 8, the Skywind team released a new video on their YouTube channel detailing the work that the 100-plus volunteers have done since 2024. Most 2D and 3D art assets, as well as the majority of writing and voice acting, are nearing completion.…
