Produced by VRTN and released on Friday (June 5), the high-profile pairing between the 16-year-old son of Lil Wayne and daughter of the artist formerly known as Kanye West was put together remotely, with each artist recording from a separate studio. The collab grew out of an unexpected TikTok connection. North, who previously produced "Justswagup" for Novi, had used a song by the rapper’s friend on the platform, which opened a line of communication between the two. "She had used one of my friends' named Mag!c's songs on TikTok, and that was how we started getting in touch with her," Novi told Vibe Magazine . From there, the idea came naturally: "It was really both of our ideas, for real. We just ended up communicating and stuff, and we were just down to do a song."
