Best known for capturing the biggest, heaviest, scariest waves on the planet, as of late, Tim Bonython has been hanging at home on Australia’s Gold Coast. And while Kirra may have had a moment his winter, the Goldie hardly produces the kind of juice that Bonython seeks. So, when the forecast maps popped on the other side of the country, he charged his batteries, packed his bags and beelined it to Victoria. “Winter down here in the Southern Hemisphere has been a little slow,” Bonython tells SURFER. “A few hit-and-misses had me itching to get out there and chase something.
