So here’s an argument for the past 30 years being the best three-decade span in NBA history: Since the 1995-96 season the following NBA championship icons started and finished their careers: Kobe Bryant , Tim Duncan , Dwyane Wade , Dirk Nowitzki. We’ve also seen the full tenures of merely legendary greats like Allen Iverson , Steve Nash , Chris Paul , Tracy McGrady , and Carmelo Anthony . The last 30 years include the peak years of players as diverse as Shaquille O’Neal , Kevin Garnett, LeBron James , Kevin Durant, and Steph Curry . And we’re in the midst of an era that includes peak Jokic , Giannis , Edwards , Brunson , and Wemby .
