New small business owner here. Been in business for about a year and a half now. Please assume I am new to this world because I am. First off, I know I messed up with the not having a contract thing. Here's the situation: Back in March 2026, a machinery fabrication and repair business contacted me to do some sandblasting work. It was a rush job; they called me early in the morning and needed work done. They said nothing about price and just told me to come ASAP. I was at their facility working by noon the same day. The job ended up taking me several days to do since the paint was extremely tough and the project piece was a fairly decent size. While doing the job, they brought out another piece that they unexpectedly needed done right then and there. It was a quick job, but it was also a rush job that they had me pivot from the *first* rush job to do. I was happy to do it. I know how these things can be with fabrication and repair jobs.…
