In Hyères, Edgar Jayet transforms a crumbling structure into a richly layered home filled with campaign furniture, ship relics, and references spanning centuries
In the open living area of designer Edgar Jayet's first project in Hyères, France, the kitchen and dining table appear as one cohesive block. The antique dining chairs are by Giuseppe Gaetano Descalzi. Jayet designed the custom solid cherry wood dining table, which seats eight to 12 people. Jayet designed the custom chandelier, which was inspired by the pot holder in The Breakers’s kitchen in Newport, Rhode Island. The pewter tableware is made by Cosi Tabellini, a heritage brand based in Brescia, Italy. Atelier François Pouenat produced the frame and Atelier Stokowski made the blown glass lampshades. The custom cherry wood caillebotis door on the left leads to a discreet bathroom.
