I recently received an amazing job offer from an up-and-coming AI company. It is a very generous offer and the role is very in line with what I want to do next. The company is very prestigious.
While the company has a location in my current city, the hiring manager is based in San Francisco and has stated in earlier interviews that he is only looking to hire someone to be in person in his location. the whole team is there.
I love the city I live in. I took my current job because it was here. I have a significant other who could make it work but probably at the expense of his own career.
People who moved to SF or just relocated in general for a job - are you glad you did it?
Has anyone here successfully negotiated their job location after receiving an offer?
Do you think it’s reasonable to try to negotiate knowing he has already stated his expectations up front in earlier interviews?
