Google has chosen Tokyo’s Omotesando district for its first physical retail location outside the United States. The store opens this summer in the first floor of Tokyu Plaza’s Omokado mall. Shoppers there will handle Pixel phones, try Nest speakers, test Fitbit trackers and browse accessories. Staff will handle repairs on site. They will run workshops and demonstrate AI features in person. This marks the company’s 11th Google Store overall. Until now all sat inside America. The decision signals confidence in Japan.
