24M working as a paraplanner for financial advisory firm, earning 28k py, and I don’t imagine my pay will be going up anytime soon.
I feel like my salary is low compared with other paraplanner salaries, even compared with other companies in the same area as me - I’ve seen roles advertised for 30-45k.
My company is a small company so it should be easier and/ or faster for me to gain a client base once I’m advising on mortgages and financial planning (I’m newly mortgage qualified and will be a qualified advisor within the next year) but equally I know it will take years to build up enough clients to get to an good income.
I’m unsure whether to stay or find a new job. I truly feel I’m underpaid compared with the salaries of the same roles in other companies in my area but unsure whether the quick jump in salary now is worth me potentially walking away from a bigger/ easier to build client base once I’m advising. Would love to hear some opinions
