I did Python and Ruby before AI. Only after AI that I picked Go lang.
So I did not grind through those tutorials of `for` loops and basic syntax.
I directly started Go coding with Copilot.
Based on my experience, these are what you need to learn and do.
* Context & Goroutines: AI will happily spawn 100 goroutines to hit an API. When/if that API hangs, the goroutines leak and your memory bleeds out. You need to learn the `context` package so you can enforce strict timeouts and cancellation signals.
* Error wrapping: AI loves to just return raw errors. A log that simply says "connection refused" is useless. Force the AI to use `fmt.Errorf` with `%w` so you get a breadcrumb trail of exactly what failed.
* Pointers vs values: AI will confidently pass a 50MB Prometheus JSON payload by value, copying it in memory at every step and thrashing your garbage collector. Learn how to spot this and enforce passing by reference.
* Interfaces - AI writes tightly coupled scripts by default.…
