A system failure at Swedish broadcaster TV4 has wiped out hundreds of hours of production footage for the celebrity reality series The Challenge , placing future seasons on hold. According to Sweden’s Aftonbladet newspaper , insider sources at production company Mastiff point the finger at a rogue AI agent. TV4, however, denies that AI was to blame for the tech catastrophe.

The Swedish series was due to return on Nov. 22, but has been delayed indefinitely, TV4 said in a statement. “We have to recut it from scratch. All the raw material is still there, and all that,” program director Mia Lindqvist said on the network’s website .

The TV4 network denies the Aftonbladet report that an AI agent deleted the episodes. “We don’t have the exact details of what happened yet, but it’s not true that this was caused by an AI agent.…
