I’m just trying to get a budget welder to weld small projects around the garage more specifically my choppers which are around 1/8th in. I did want a dedicated tig and MiG but for now I’d rather just buy an MP just to save space and a little bit of money.

The 285 has great reviews but I read online that 285v is over kill for simple garage projects and that it would be for my industrial type welding so I was thinking about the MTS200? Any opinions? Also the MTS200 comes with a MiG torch and can add a CK tig torch for an extra $100…
