What would happen if an IO was placed too far away from the correct site into the spongy bone, and rather into a part of the bone that placed the needle into the yellow marrow? For example, if you used the proximal tibia but placed it several inches distal instead. Would you just get slower flow rates and slower entry of IO medications into the bloodstream?
