Those of us who work on GO! magazine labored a bit over this week’s issue and what it should look like.

GO! is, to me, the fun part of the paper, providing info and ideas about music, dining, arts and other entertainment options, all those needed diversions from the workaday world. Each week, we — features reporter Sydney Seymour and myself, sports editor Mark Morical, freelancers Ben Salmon and Makenzie Whittle, along with a few monthly contributors — shed light on places to play, or see the creative endeavors of Central Oregonians, or hear visiting authors, musicians and other performers.

Over the weekend, Sydney and I began to discuss our concerns about an immediate return to GO! business as usual, how it might seem tone deaf in the wake of the tragic, horrific events that took place Oct. 15 at Silver Rail Elementary in Bend.…
