Not every kid deserves to graduate. Not every kid deserves sympathy. Some kids are dumb. Some kids have shitty lives. Some kids will just never amount to being smart or capable, sometimes even because of their shitty lives. WE CANNOT KEEP PUTTING OUR ENERGY INTO THESE STUDENTS AND DRAGGING BEHIND THE REST. I think we need to reverse the dropout age to 16 so we can actually filter out some of these losers and provide the capable ones education they deserve. I just read the most alarming statistics about US literacy rates, our education system is obviously fucked, but I think a big part of it is pretending that every kid is capable and deserves a chance and we must bend over backwards to accommodate them. No, they might just suck and be dumb. And guess what that's OK. Let them drop out so the real students can try to get a real education. Rant over.
