PARIS — Art Basel Paris may have closed prematurely due to fears of violent protests in Paris, but art lovers still managed to cram in a full schedule of exhibitions and events staged around the contemporary art fair and its sister event, Design Miami Paris.

Art Basel opened to the public on Friday after three days of previews, but organizers canceled its Saturday and Sunday sessions, citing security concerns.
