It's a bit complicated but... I was late diagnosed in 2012 but ran from it because I was not even looking for this diagnosis back then and thought that it just wasn't possible even though I knew nothing about it. I never even looked up what it meant and tossed the report thinking it was stupid. Since 2024 I had been asking my primary care provider to refer me for another assessment for both autism and ADHD because I have been falling apart. I'd been noticing things for years now that I was recognizing as not normal that, thinking back on past interactions, realized I was doing unconsciously my whole life. I began to think that there was something seriously wrong with me. I needed to find someone to reassess me and if they came to the same conclusion, explain what it even means. Last June while waiting I decided to try to explain my feelings but I became so overwhelmed and consumed by emotions that I just disappeared one day...…
