Had a final in person interview 4 weeks ago. Just got a call from HR discussing salary, start date, credentialing. She also mentioned that the team is done with interviews but need to make a decision still as there are two other candidates and we are all equally standing. She’s not contacting references until a decision has been made.

So then why did i get this call? Are the other candidates getting the same call and details like start date too?
