An enormous new airline lounge is poised to be a destination in and of itself.

United Airlines is opening the space this week at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport, staking its claim to the largest airport lounge in North or South America. Located in IAH’s revamped Terminal B, the lounge features seating for 800 people, including a 1,350-square-foot outdoor terrace offering panoramic views of planes coming and going.

To enjoy the luxe new space, fliers will need a United Club membership, an eligible United rewards credit card, or a premium cabin ticket that comes bundled with club access.…
