Avengers: Doomsday has certainly become one of the most highly anticipated movies of 2026, if not the most, and the film should top off a historic year for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

The film is set to release on December 18, 2026, and it is expected to have similar success to its four prequels. Each Avengers film has topped $1.4 billion at the worldwide box office, with the fourth edition, Avengers: Endgame (2019), earning a whopping $2.8 billion, the second highest-grossing movie of all time, next to Avatar .

But while the film could earn just as much, if not more than it’s prequel, it already has some stiff competition within the MCU as Tom Holland’s Spider-Man : Brand New Day earned over $2.5 billion worldwide.
