An independent, non-city-affiliated audit of Los Angeles Department of Water and Power rates has been ordered by Mayor Karen Bass, her office says.

According to a press release issued early Monday morning, Bass said that, in addition to the audit, she is urging the LADWP Board of Commissioners to “deliver immediate and comprehensive relief on energy bills for ratepayers facing sharply higher charges.”
