At least 27 people killed in Russian strikes throughout eastern Ukraine
President Donald Trump announced a three-day ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine , scheduled for May 9th, 10th, and 11th.
The ceasefire will involve a suspension of all kinetic military activity during the specified period.
Alongside the ceasefire, a prisoner swap will occur, with each country releasing 1,000 prisoners.
Trump stated he directly requested this agreement, and both Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy consented.
Ukrainian President Zelensky confirmed the prisoner exchange on social media, thanking Trump, who expressed hope that this marks the beginning of the end of the conflict.
