This is like Christmas in the summertime if you ask me. This was super special because I got to bring a friend and watch him buy his first criterions. Sounds silly. But it was a real privilege to be there with him. He bought Isle of Dogs, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Cronos, and Ikiru. A solid first selection if you ask me. I'm gonna put in Sentimental Value as soon as I get done writing this. It was one of my favorite films last year. Joachim Trier has become one of my all-time favs. The Yojimbo/Sanjuro box set has been on my radar for quite some time. I saw Yojimbo many years ago and thought it was amazing. I have yet to watch Sanjuro, though. This'll be my first time. Lenny, Chilly Scenes of Winter, and Five Easy Pieces were complete blind buys for the most part. I know some of them just came out on Criterion, but I had never heard of the films beforehand. I read their descriptions on the box, and they just immediately felt like they were movies made for me. I can't wait to dive in.…
